Internet fraud: what to do?
Online purchases have become more and more popular in recent years, which of course attracts more and more fraudsters. Payment methods that seem safe for customers because they are intended to protect buyers become a risk and there is a risk of falling victim to a fraudster. The potential buyer usually receives a link through which the payment can be made by providing their bank details or credit card information. But more and more often this link comes from the fraudsters themselves, which allows the fraudsters to gain access to your bank account or their sensitive banking information. Once access has been gained, multiple amounts, often large sums, can be immediately debited from your credit card or account.
Online Internet fraud: Online private purchase and procedure for handing over goods
It’s worth checking the seller, especially when buying luxury goods privately online. Because such scammers like to get up to mischief on Ebay classifieds, among other places.
One possible approach would be, for example, to carry out a background check on the seller.
In cases of personal handover of goods, we also offer covert accompaniment of the handover. Our investigators, who remain invisible in the background, will document the handover with photos.
